June 2007:
Welcome New Webmaster
New member Linda Renkowski has volunteered to be our
new webmaster. She replaces David Strong, who has done a terrific job
creating a great website for us. Many members tell us that our website
attracted them to our club, so this is a good recruiting tool.
Linda just received her B.S. with honors from Cal
Lutheran in Computer Information Systems. She is employed by New Directions
Technologies Inc., a government contractor providing IT support for the Navy
at Port Hueneme Naval Base, Port Hueneme CA. She joined Toastmasters because
she was chosen to be a commencement speaker for the ADEP program at CLU and
practiced her speech with us first! Congratulations Linda, both on your
recent graduation and on becoming a new member.

Website Info
There is a major change in the website. We will now
have a password to access the members' section. This will be distributed
by email to all current members and future members. Please contact our
new webmaster if you did not receive one.
Also, please check your member information on the
website. We would like to post every member's photo, year joining, and a
quote from you. If we don't have this information, please send it to Kathy
Wertheim.
International Conference
The 2007 Toastmasters International Conference will be
held August 15-18 in Phoenix, Arizona. It feature seminars, world-renowned
speakers and the Speaker of the Year Contest. A crowd of 2,000 Toastmasters
is expected. It is rare for the international conference to be held on the
west coast. Future conferences will be in Calgary, Canada in 2008,
Connecticut in 2009, Australia in 2010, and in Las Vegas in 2011. If you
want to go at the lower coast, now is the time.
