BEST TABLE TOPIC SPEECH:

Being a first-time guest didn't stop Cathy from winning her first-ever Table Topic speech. This is the toughest ribbon to win because the entire club competes. All attendees present one- to two-minute impromptu speeches on surprise topics.

We're hoping to see you back for more, Cathy!!!

For his speech, "Mahatma Ghandi -- Man or Mystic," Bobby entertained and educated us on the life of this historic figure for 7 minutes.

Highlights from September 18th Meeting:

Doug Dewar

Doug's "Seems a bit strange, but this is America," speech won first place, Saturday, at the 2006 Area-B4 Humorous Speech Contest. He'll take his polished speech up to the Division B contest next month.

Dave Strong

Won our club's "Best Evaluator" speech contest, but did not place in the 2006 District-B Evaluation Contest.

Better luck next time, Dave!!!
